Ψαλμοί 54
- 1 «Εις τον πρώτον μουσικόν, επί Νεγινώθ· Μασχίλ του Δαβίδ, ότε ήλθον οι Ζιφαίοι και είπον προς τον Σαούλ, Δεν είναι κεκρυμμένος ο Δαβίδ παρ' ημίν;» Θεέ, σώσον με εν τω ονόματί σου και εν τη δυνάμει σου κρίνον με.
- 2 Θεέ, άκουσον της προσευχής μου· ακροάσθητι των λόγων του στόματός μου.
- 3 Διότι ξένοι ηγέρθησαν κατ' εμού, και καταδυνάσται ζητούσι την ψυχήν μου· δεν έθεσαν τον Θεόν ενώπιον αυτών. Διάψαλμα.
- 4 Ιδού, ο Θεός με βοηθεί· ο Κύριος είναι μετά των υποστηριζόντων την ψυχήν μου.
- 5 Θέλει στρέψει το κακόν επί τους εχθρούς μου· εξολόθρευσον αυτούς εν τη αληθεία σου.
- 6 Αυτοπροαιρέτως θέλω θυσιάσει εις σέ· θέλω δοξολογεί το όνομά σου, Κύριε, διότι είναι αγαθόν.
- 7 Διότι εκ πάσης στενοχωρίας με ελύτρωσε, και ο οφθαλμός μου είδε την εκδίκησιν επί τους εχθρούς μου.

This translation started in 1831 and was published in 1850 by the Orthodox Archimandrite and professor of the National University of Athens, Neophytos Vamvas with the help of other researchers. Considering that the Greek Orthodox Church wouldn't support him, he collaborated with the British and Foreign Bible Society to publish this translation.
The text is written in "kathareuousa", a form of greek that is not spoken today in Greece. It is closer to spoken greek though, than the Septuagint (also known "translation of the seventy").- Encoding: UTF-8
