- 1 约坦登基的时候，是二十五岁；他在耶路撒冷作王共十六年；他的母亲名叫耶路沙，是撒督的女儿。
- 2 约坦行耶和华看为正的事，像他父亲乌西雅一切所行的，只是没有进入耶和华的殿；但人民还是行败坏的事。
- 3 约坦建造了耶和华殿的上门；在俄斐勒的城墙上，他也有很多建设。
- 4 他在犹大山地建造城市，又在树林中建造一些营寨和瞭望楼。
- 5 约坦和亚扪人的王交战，战胜了他们；那一年，亚扪人就献给他三千四百公斤银子，一千公吨小麦，一千公吨大麦；第二年和第三年，亚扪人也献给他这个数目。
- 6 约坦在耶和华他的 神面前坚守正道，所以日渐强盛。
- 7 约坦其余的事迹，他的一切战争和作为，都记在以色列和犹大列王记上。
- 8 他登基的时候是二十五岁；他在耶路撒冷作王共十六年。
- 9 约坦和他的列祖同睡，埋葬在大卫城里；他的儿子亚哈斯接续他作王。
